22 NewJobs with Wind Energy Manufacturer ENERCON

14th April 2014 – Dublin – Today, Minister Pat Rabbitte TD officially opened ENERCON`s new European sales office in Santry, Dublin.

ENERCON is Europe’s leading supplier for wind energy turbines onshore with the highest vertical integration in the wind industry. Minister Rabbitte was joined for the occasion by the ENERCON’s Head of Sales, Northern Europe, Robin Borgert.

ENERCON’s Dublin team will have sole responsibility for sales, project management, electrical engineering, logistics coordination and site assessment in Ireland.

ENERCON will have 22 people employed at their new office, with future growth expected. This investment is supported by Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.

ENERCON is active in Ireland since 1998, with more than 640 MW and 350 turbines have been installed in Ireland and Northern Ireland, which is every 4th turbine installed on the island. ENERCON operates five service stations across the country, with 130 people currently working in the field of installation and servicing of wind turbines. ENERCON operates factories in eight countries and has more than 17,000 employees worldwide.

Irish Water to Announce up to 1,600 Jobs.

Up to 1,600 new construction jobs are expected to be announced by the new company tasked with collecting water charges.

The Irish Independent reports that 25% of the new jobs will be reserved for those on the Live Register and will last around three years.

It comes just days after Irish Water announced up to 240 jobs will be created at eight regional offices around the country, while another 400 positions are being rolled out in Abtran call centre in Cork, which will process applications and customer queries in relation to Irish Water’s operations.

The first bills for water charges will be issued to the public in January 2015.

ESB International strikes €30m deal in Turkey

ESB International has struck a €30m deal to jointly operate and maintain a power station in Turkey.

The deal comes on the back of the Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore’s trip to Turkey which also saw Monaghan-based forklift manufacturer Combilift secure a €1m deal for new orders from a Turkish partner company.

Mr Gilmore has concluded his four-day trade mission to the country during which 24 Enterprise Ireland client companies were given an opportunity to showcase their products and develop new business opportunities.

Speaking in Istanbul, the Tánaiste said significant progress had been made in developing new markets in Turkey for Irish business which will help to create and support jobs in Ireland.
