Limerick company wins big – and confirms new jobs.

Carambola Kidz, based in the Annacotty Business Park, has also become the first Irish winner of the prestigious European Corporate Social Responsibility Awards, which recognise partnership, innovation and impact.

It won the category for its partnership with a school in Sligo, where it helped to install a functional in-school library.

As a result of winning significant new business , the firm will create 10 new jobs at its various facilities across Ireland.

Some 50 of 70 people already employed by the company are based locally.

As a result of taking the Corporate Social Responsibility award, Carambola Kidz represented Ireland at a celebration event in Brussels, where it joined winning entries from 28 other European nations.

Managing director of Carambola Kidz, Colm O’Brien, said: “Our entire work ethos is based on having a positive impact on every child and every school that we are privileged to serve, this is why we do, what we do. This award provides us with the inspiration and encouragement to maintain and nurture our core values. We are thrilled to accept the award on behalf of all the children that we serve.”
