This is Aldi’s fourth store in Wicklow, the first Aldi store in Ireland having opened in November 1999.

One of the fastest-growing supermarkets in Ireland over the past few years, Aldi has tripled its annual spend on Irish products and doubled the number of Irish suppliers it works with.

Over 50pc of its supplier spend is with Irish suppliers, producers and manufacturers and all of its fresh meats, fresh poultry, eggs, bread, flour, and many of its teas, coffees, soft drinks, waters and snacks come from Irish suppliers.

Suppliers from the local area to the Greystones store include Glenhaven Foods based in Arklow, which supplies Aldi with value added frozen poultry products, and Kerry Foods based in Shillelagh, which supplies a number of products in Aldi’s own-brand Brannans sliced ham range.
